He was born May 19, 1939 in
Bragg City, MO to Fielden and Lois (Peacock) Childress.
He had 2 brothers: Jerry and Ronald Childress of
Broken Arrow; 1 sister Bonnie
(Childress) Williams of Porter.
Bill married Virginia Ann in March 1957.
He had 3 sons: Brent Childress of
Nixa, MO, Kent
Childress of Bethlehem,
GA
and Chris Childress of
Broken Arrow.
Bill leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Taylor
Childress of Memphis, TN, Clarissa Childress of
Springfield, MO and Austin Childress of Ozark, MO; and
Lora DeWitt Childress.
Bill was a well known home builder
and land developer in the 70’s and 80’s.
He was the owner of Plum’s Restaurant in
Broken Arrow.
He lived in
Broken Arrow
from 1957 until his death.
